Family Dining:Is all about Enjoying!

Family dining is all about happy, relaxed times spent enjoying wholesome food with family members. It is not about going into a cold, Little- used, unwelcoming room where ritualistic behavior is required. Family meals may provide the only time in the day when all gather together and proper conversation is possible, so it is vital to make this assembly as convenient, enjoyable and relaxing as possible. For the space to work it needs to be practical, so that a glass of spilt juice does not cause a catastrophe or floor covering may be critical. A hard floor, from a maintenance viewpoint, is ideal. A fitted carpet is not out of bounds-especially if treated (when new) with a sealant to prevent the absorption of spills. Natural floorings are not recommended for families with anything less than the best behaved children-they tend to absorb liquids (unless treated) and hold crumbs and their unstable character can cause them to ruck up where chairs are dragged over their surface. Other surfaces within the dining area may need to be child- prop too.
